Myofascial Release

Trigger-point and soft-tissue work to free up tight, bound muscle.

What it is

Plain language. Real work.

Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that targets the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, nerve, and organ in your body. When fascia gets tight or adhered, it restricts movement, causes pain, and creates compensation patterns that lead to more problems.

Dr. Clay uses sustained pressure, stretching, and targeted manipulation to break up adhesions and restore the fascia to its natural, flexible state. His background in sports and deep-tissue massage therapy gives him a feel for tissue tension that goes beyond a standard adjustment.

Who it helps

Common conditions we address.

Chronic tightness that stretching does not fix
Post-surgical scar tissue
Repetitive strain injuries
Plantar fasciitis
Frozen shoulder
Upper back and neck stiffness
Hip and IT band restriction
Pain that seems to move around the body
What to expect

A typical visit, step by step.

01
Assess

Dr. Clay assesses your movement and palpates the tissue to find restrictions.

02
Pressure

He applies sustained pressure to the restricted areas, holding each point until the tissue begins to release.

03
Release

You may feel a stretching sensation, warmth, or a release as the fascia lets go.

04
Recover

Afterward, you may feel lighter and more mobile. Mild soreness in treated areas is common for a day or two.

FAQ

Common questions.

Massage focuses on relaxing muscle tissue. Myofascial release specifically targets the fascia, which is a different type of connective tissue. The technique involves sustained pressure rather than kneading or stroking.
