Cupping

Suction therapy to boost circulation and ease tension.

What it is

Plain language. Real work.

Cupping therapy uses silicone or glass cups placed on the skin to create suction. This pulls blood flow to the surface, loosens tight muscle tissue, and helps the body clear out waste products and inflammation from the area. Think of it as the reverse of a deep-tissue massage: instead of pushing into the tissue, cupping lifts and separates it.

Dr. Clay uses cupping as a complement to adjustments and other soft-tissue work. It is especially effective for large muscle groups like the back, shoulders, and hips where tension tends to accumulate.

What to expect

A typical visit, step by step.

01
Placement

Dr. Clay places cups on the targeted muscle groups. You will feel a pulling or tightening sensation as the suction takes hold.

02
Hold

The cups remain in place for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the area and the goal.

03
Remove

After removal, you will likely see circular marks on the skin. These are not bruises. They are the result of increased blood flow and typically fade within a few days to a week.

04
Relief

Most people feel immediate relief in the treated area, along with a general sense of relaxation.

FAQ
